BikeBrampton promoted Bike the Creek Jun 18th (free registration is now open) and Brampton Cycling Advisory Committee’s 2016 exciting series of 10 Brampton Community Rides at our booth.
Several hundred cycling enthusiasts stopped by to chat with our volunteers. Many live in Brampton and many were very interested in cycling in Brampton. Cycle tourism is an up-and-coming theme amongst cyclists who want to explore other areas. We had interest from those living in Toronto, Ajax, Grimsby and Guelph! Most communities in southern Ontario and Quebec sponsored booth displays to lure bike riders.
Route maps were a huge hit and much in demand. Cyclists can and do refer to their GPS for directions, however the lure of a paper map is a huge draw!
Dozens signed up for our BikeBrampton newsletter and requested more information about Bike the Creek and Community Rides.
BikeBrampton shared a double booth space with Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee and Region of Peel Walk + Roll. The coordination of Community Ride days in Brampton and Mississauga led for a perfect flow of referrals between the 2 displays, as many riders want to experience new rides in adjacent communities.
