Rear View Cycling
Rear view cycling was promoted in Bike Month. MTO’s Road Safety Challenge grant allowed BikeBrampton to design, create and display a poster to encourage cyclists to check around them before turning or changing lanes. Published April 2018 in “Cycling Skills: Ontario’s Guide to Safe Cycling” included the inspiration for our challenge this year:

Bike to School Week 2018
Peel Bike to School Week in 2018 was the best yet with 165 schools participating. BikeBrampton visited four schools in Brampton, bringing a cycling message of safety and healthy activity. Students were reminded to check over their shoulders before changing lanes and turning, practicing safe REAR VIEW CYCLING.

Mentors, protégés, bike mechanics, CAN-Bike instructors, Brampton & Region of Peel Staff, Sonia Sidhu MP Staff and BikeBrampton members cheered loudly as David Laing updated the country on Brampton Cycling in Canada “4 Canadian Communities – If you Build it, They will Come: Increasing Cycling, Reducing Emissions”.

BikeWrx Bike Repairs
Brampton Bike Hub is teaching minor BikeWrx repairs Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm, 50 Sunny Meadow Blvd #108. BikeBrampton partners with PCHS to bring the Brampton Bike Hub’s Pedalwise and BikeWrx programs. Despite a cold January, both experienced cyclists and those who want some help through our Pedalwise program, come out to tune up their bikes and socialize.
