Ontario by Bike announced:

As summer arrives and cyclists head out in larger numbers to explore Ontario’s beautiful trails and roads, many of them will be keen to visit one of Ontario By Bike’s Best Bicycle Friendly Business award winners in 2025.

Recently announced, 24 businesses across Ontario have been given awards for going above and beyond in welcoming cyclists. Whether on a day ride close to home, or on a multi-day cycling adventure, these award-winning businesses are truly exceptional places for cyclists to stop at, while exploring our province. The winners range from wineries, pubs, lavender farms to bed & breakfasts, in all an incredible array of places for cyclists to eat, visit and sleep.

The Ontario Bicycle Friendly Business Awards are now in their seventh year and are open to businesses certified by Ontario By Bike as bicycle friendly, locations that have met criteria and have amenities to welcome. The Ontario By Bike Network is free for businesses to participate in, and bicycle friendly businesses can be easily found on Ontario By Bike’s website and maps. There are now over 1,656 certified bicycle friendly businesses across Ontario.

“Showcasing local businesses that welcome cyclists, the 2025 winners and best bicycle friendly businesses for the year are well deserving of the recognition that comes with this award. With more domestic travel projected for coming months, cyclists visiting in Ontario would be guaranteed a warm welcome at any of these locations.” Louisa Mursell, Executive Director of Ontario By Bike/Transportation Options

Research has shown that cyclists are visiting businesses certified as bicycle friendly, engaged and making use of the trip planning resources made available through Ontario By Bike and actively exploring Ontario with their bikes on both overnight and day trips.

Each award-winning business is featured in the popular monthly e-newsletter that is issued by Ontario By Bike and avidly read by over 16,300 cyclists. Additionally, cyclists can find info on bike routes, itineraries and all certified bicycle friendly businesses at www.ontariobybike.ca, rated the most used website for ideas to plan cycling outings and routes in Ontario. Paired with the newly published and annual Cycling in Ontario / Le vélo en Ontario 2025 magazine, cyclists have all the resources they need to get rolling.
