Caledon Bike Hub

Our mission is to empower residents to chose bikes over cars to get around. We believe that riding and fixing a bicycle is a powerful tool to connect neighbours, promote independence, improve health, and enhance environmental sustainability.

Caledon Bike Hub webtile

Town of Caledon supports the Caledon Bike Hub as part of their commitment to being a Bicycle Friendly Community. Parks and Recreation has been supporting our program with the BikeWrx pop-up locations throughout the spring to fall season. Transportation Engineering and the Active Transportation Task Force are part of the valuable partnership team. Caledon is a well-known destination for cyclists, with both recreational trails and challenging road routes.

Downtown Brampton DIY Bike Repair Co-op “Different Spokes”

Caledon Councillors supported the opening of the first-ever bike co-op in the Region of Peel, Different Spokes. Caledon residents are welcome to become members and register for an appointment.

A well maintained bike is the secret to a safe, pleasant ride. Learning basic bike repair skills is empowering!

Bike Library

Different Spokes lends bikes that have been generous donated to the program. If you don’t have a bike, become a member. We will try to fit you with one from our bicycle library. Our bike mechanics and volunteers have lovingly refurbished these bicycles. Arrange an appointment to borrow a bike.

Pedalwise

Become confident and ride with a mentor.

We want to help you use a bicycle for short trips instead of using a car. You can use your bicycle to get to public transportation too. Each Pedalwise participant (called a protégé) is given a mentor. The mentor is an experienced cyclist who will help you choose less travelled roads and paths, give you riding tips and even come with you as you ride a new route.

Ride a bike to destinations in your neighbourhood. Shop, dine, run errands, commute — all by bike. Be active with your family year-round. Meet new friends. Become healthier. Enjoy nature. Help reduce traffic congestion. Reduce your carbon footprint. How to sign up for Pedalwise

PCHS logo

Punjabi Community Health Services empowers diverse communities to improve the quality of life of individuals, families and communities, by providing health, settlement and social services. Founded in 1990, this not-for-profit community based agency has grown over the years to be rated in the top 3% of the 7032 CARF accredited agencies in 20 countries! PCHS has made Caledon Bike Hub possible by supporting Different Spokes.

Walk and Roll logo

Pedalwise and BikeWrx owe their origins to the Region of Peel’s 2015 community based social marketing pilot program. TCAT (Toronto Centre for Active Transportation) was retained by the Region of Peel Walk+Roll, to lead this collaborative initiative with Dr. Beth Savan and her research team at the University of Toronto’s ‘Toronto Cycle Think and Do Tank’, Culturelink, and BikeBrampton. The current project would not be possible without the generous support of Walk+Roll Peel.
