We are volunteers who believe the bicycle is an efficient, cost effective, healthy and climate friendly alternative to the car for most travel needs.

We advocate for safe transportation options in Brampton and Caledon. We offer events and activities that encourage increased cycling.

BikeBrampton History

2013 – BikeBrampton started as a volunteer group of concerned citizens, originally called “Brampton Bicycle Advisory Committee”.

2013 – BikeBrampton partnered with City of Brampton and TRCA to host the first Bike the Creek.

2014 – BikeBrampton ran the Brampton Kids on Bikes Project with a grant from the Heart & Stroke Foundation, to conduct research and hold workshops to encourage children to bike to school.

2015 – BikeBrampton partnered with Region of Peel to pilot Community Cycling Program, which continues to run.

2015 – BikeBrampton successfully advocated for Brampton to create a Cycling Advisory Committee (BCAC, now ATAC), and hire a Manager responsible for Active Transportation.

2017 – BikeBrampton partnered with PCHS to deliver Bike Hub services for Brampton and Caledon on behalf of Region of Peel.

Three Peel Hubs were created: Sunny Meadow in Brampton, The Exchange in Bolton, and at the Southfields Recreation storefront.

2018-BikeBrampton successfully advocated for Brampton to create the first Active Transportation Master Plan that includes a protected bike lane along Vodden, Howden and Hanover Streets. This created the first east/west cycling corridor in the City.

2020-2021 – BikeBrampton worked with City to create interim bike lanes and map to essential services. All indoor bike hub locations were closed due to COVID-19, and were replaced with 56 BikeWrx Pop Ups at various locations throughout Brampton and Caledon.

2022 – Different Spokes Bike Cooperative in downtown Brampton was opened.

2022-2023 Different Spokes delivered services to domestic and foreign students at Algoma University. BikeBrampton celebrated 10 years!

2024 – BikeBrampton website redesigned. Bike the Creek celebrated 10th anniversary.
