Sunday Sept 25th Milton.Tragedy can be a powerful catalyst to inspire good things to happen. That’s certainly the case for “Greg’s Ride”, the celebration of cycling event organized by Share the Road Cycling Coalition. Eleven years ago Greg Stobbert, an OPP Sergeant, was struck and killed while riding his bicycle on Tremaine Road in Milton Ontario. To honour his memory and to help raise cycling safety awareness, his wife, Eleanor McMahon founded Share the Road and established Greg’s Ride as an annual cycling…

Bramalea CycleFest on Jun 4th was geared towards engaging the community in conversations about health, wellness and environmental responsibility. Organized by All Peoples Church, this 2nd annual event raised $4,800 for William Osler Foundation Pediatric Wing, with half the money matched by CN. Church volunteers joined BikeBrampton volunteers to take apart 75 donated bicycles to create 42 for bikeless children from a local school.

Parachute is a not-for-profit agency advocating to reduce predictable and preventable injuries resulting from motor vehicle collisions, sports and recreation activities and seniors’ falls.  This past May 27th, Century Gardens Recreation Centre hosted, “Buckle, Buckle, Buckle”, an Awareness Safe Kids Launch Event with Parachute. BikeBrampton was invited to provide programs and information on cycling safety.
