The Brampton Cycling Advisory Committee agenda for December 15, 2016 is available. There are key updates to:
- Brampton Recreation Trails – Condition Audit and Signage Retrofit
- Franceschini Bridge – MTO Update, which includes some very good news!
There will be a presentation by Tamara Kwast, Coordinator, Special Projects, Planning and Development Services, regarding the Brampton Recreation Trails – Condition Audit and Signage Retrofit. A slide deck is included with the presentation.
There is correspondence from Nelson Cadete, Project Manager, Active Transportation, Planning and Development Services, dated November 1, 2016, regarding Follow-up Information – Etobicoke Creek Trail. The correspondence discusses:
- The rationale for constructing the Etobicoke Creek Trail extension in Caledon out of granular material instead of asphalt.
- Whether the Kennedy Valley Restoration will be constructed with granular material or asphalt.
Correspondence from Jake Mete, Landscape Architect, Public Works and Engineering, dated November 9, 2016, re: Franceschini Bridge – MTO Update. The correspondence indicates that a “land swap” process that was part of the bridge project, and causing delay, has been delinked. This is excellent news! It means the City of Brampton can proceed with finalizing the bridge agreement, which anticipated for Spring 2017. Construction is anticipated for completion in Summer 2017.
