Sightseeing by Trail, Return by GO!

Lisa, Alina GO with bikes

Here is a great idea for those wishing to do a bit of sightseeing by bike without having to venture too far from home. Bike along the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail from Port Whitby Park in the east, West Harbour Park (Hamilton) in the West, to Niagara Falls in the South and return to your starting point by GO Bus or GO train!

Mounting bike on GO bus

The Waterfront Trail and the Lakeshore GO line run parallel for almost 200 km. You can start at any one of 11 “trail to GO” access points where the GO station stop is within an easy riding distance of a trail connection.  Sightsee to your heart’s (and leg’s) content. When you’re tired, simply hop the GO train or bus back to where you started.

Trails to GO is a partnership program between the Great Lakes Waterfront Trails Trust and Metrolinx/GO Transit. Direction signs will be installed in the Spring of 2017. Check out the details at  http://www.waterfronttrail.org/trailtogo
